Vaziev (Director of the Ballet)
Honoured Artist of Russia (2002). Born in Alagir, North Ossetia. Graduated
from the Vaganova Academy (under Yury Umrikhin) in 1981. Joined the Kirov
Ballet in 1979 and became a principal dancer in 1989. In 1995 was appointed
Director of the Kirov Ballet. His repertoire included: La Sylphide (James),
La Bayadere (Solor), The Sleeping Beauty (Prince Desire), The Nutcracker
(Prince), Swan Lake (Siegfried), Don Quixote (Basil), Giselle (Albrecht),
Le Corsaire (Ali), Raymonda (Abderkhaman), Paquita Grand Pas, The Legend
of Love (Ferkhad), Sсheherazade (Golden Slave), Fokine's Chopiniana,
Spectre de la Rose; Balanchine's Theme and Variations, Le Jeune Homme et

During his Directorship, the following new productions have entered
the repertoire of the Kirov Ballet: Balanchine´s Symphony in C, Serenade,
Apollo and Jewels; Roland Petit´s Carmen and Le jeune homme et la
mort; Kennet MacMillan´s Manon; Le baiser de la fee, Poeme de l´extase,
Middle Duet, Cinderella by Alexey Ratmansky; Petrushka, the recreation
of the 1890 production of The Sleeping Beauty and La Bayadere The Nutcracker
(set, costume and production design created by Mikhail Shemiakin ), Three
ballets of John Neumeier, William Forsythe’s ballets.

Mikhail Sinkevich
Born in Moscow in 1969, Mikhail Sinkevich graduated from
the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 1990 (choral
conducting faculty) and in 1994 (opera and symphony conducting faculty,
class of Professor Musin).
From 1992 – 1994 he conducted at the St Petersburg
State Children´s Music Theatre Zazerkalye where he worked
on productions of La serva padrona, Die Zauberflöte and Noah´s
Ark as well as conducting Il barbiere di Siviglia at the
State Music Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatoire.
In 1994 he joined the Byelorussian National Academic Opera
and Ballet Theatre where he conducted Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze
di Figaro, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La traviata, Aida, Madama Butterfly,
The Nutcracker, The Tsar´s Bride, Mozart and Salieri, Prince Igor,
The Creation of the World, Le Baiser de la fée and The
Firebird. He toured with the company to the Netherlands, Germany and
Switzerland.
In 1997 –1998 he was Principal Guest Conductor of
the State Music Theatre of Byelorussia, where he conducted Der Zigeunerbaron,
Die Fledermaus, Giselle and Don Quixote. He conducted the
company on tours to Germany and Switzerland.
As a guest conductor, he worked with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra
of Byelorussia. In 1996 he conducted the St Petersburg Chamber Opera
Theatre production of Donizetti´s Il campanello di notte.
In 1999 Mikhail Sinkevich participated in the Putbus Festival
in Germany. He has conducted many works at music theatres in Perm and Novosibirsk.
Upon the invitation of Maestro Valery Gergiev, he joined the Mariinsky
Theatre in 2000, where he conducts works from the Russian and European
repertoires.
His opera repertoire includes: Ruslan and Lyudmila, Prince Igor, Sadko,
The Queen of Spades, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Macbeth, Don Carlo, Un ballo
in maschera, La forza del destino, Madama Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor,
Turandot, Le nozze di Figaro, Der Fliegende Holländer, Das Rheingold,
Die Walküre and Salome.
His ballet repertoire includes: Giselle, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker,
La Bayadère, Schéhérazade, Chopiniana, The Firebird,
Jewels and The Prodigal Son.
He regularly conducts solo concerts of Mariinsky Theatre opera singers.
In 2001 he took part in the Salzburg Festival as musical
assistant to Valery Gergiev (Mariinsky Theatre production of Shostakovich´s Lady
Macbeth of Mtsensk).
In 2001 he conducted a Mariinsky Theatre production of Salome at
the Melbourne Festival.
He has participated in tours by the Mariinsky Ballet Company to the
Metropolitan Opera (New York), conducting the ballets La Bayadère (revival
of the 1900 production) and Jewels in 2002 and the opera Macbeth in
2003.
The same year, he toured to London (Covent Garden) and Manchester.
In 2005 conducted performances by the Mariinsky Ballet Company at the
opening of the first season of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
From 2003 he is a principal guest conductor of Hermitage
academy of Music (symphony orchestra) where he realized various projects
from baroque operas till symphony music of 20th century. He conducts symphonies
by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Berlioz, Wagner, R. Strauss,
Schoenberg and Faure.
Pavel Bubelnikov
Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation.
Recipient of the Prize of the St Petersburg City Government.
Recipient of the Golden Sofit, St Petersburg´s highest
theatre prize.
Nominee for the Golden Mask, Russia´s highest theatre prize.
Born in Leningrad in 1944.
Graduated from the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in
1970.
From 1968-1993 was a conductor with the Maly Theatre of Opera and Ballet
where his repertoire included over eighty productions. Toured with the
theatre to Austria, Germany, Italy, the Lebanon, France and Japan.
In 1987 together with stage director Alexander Petrov, he established
the "Zazerkalye" State Children´s Music Theatre and remains
Principal Conductor of the theatre to this day. His repertoire includes
almost thirty productions, among them A Musical Album for Children,
The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep, The Christmas Mystery, L´elisir
d´amore, Les Contes d´Hoffmann, La Bohème, Porgy and
Bess and Noah´s Ark. One major event in Pavel Bubelnikov´s
career came with a production of Banshchikov´s opera Melpomene´s
Lover, which was dedicated to Fyodor Volkov, the founder of Russian
theatre.
Has toured with the Mariinsky Theatre as a Guest Conductor to the USA
and Korea.

Graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of Professor Natalya
Dudinskaya).
Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in 1991. Principal since 1995.
First prizewinner at the Academy´s 1991 Competition. Awarded the Golden
Sofit (1995), the Golden Mask (1997) and the Baltika prize
(1997 and 2001). Recipient of a number of international awards including
the 1998 Evening Standard award for outstanding achievement in ballet.
Recipient of the State Prize of Russia (1999).

Born in Baku. Graduated from the Byelorussian State Choreographic School
in 1990. Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in 2001.
